Cross post: Loaded gun found...
...in federal Manhattan jail that housed Jeffrey Epstein:

Federal investigators found a loaded gun Thursday in the same Manhattan jail where Jeffrey Epstein killed himself last summer, CBS New York reports, citing the federal Bureau of Prisons.
In view of this fact and that the US government is the biggest arms provider in the world often arming some foreign militias around the globe solely because those militias are the enemies of other factions which the US brands as enemies, can the feds really be trusted with gun-
control?:
During the Cold War, the United States supplied anti-communist insurgents, governments, and their associated paramilitaries with guns, which they used to commit human rights abuses and occasionally massacres. In the service of the ongoing war on drugs, the United States has armed increasingly militarized police forces across the hemisphere.

How is it reasonable to trust the federal government as an arbiter of who should and should not be allowed to buy a gun when the feds can't keep guns out of a building on a 100 x 200 foot property?
End the war on drugs. Defuse the purpose for a big part of the world's violence and I'll consider more ideas on gun regulation from politicians. All I see now is a lot of '
gun-control except when I (the politicians) give out a pass.'
I've read: "While private gunrunners continue to thrive, the world's biggest arms suppliers are the U.S., U.K., Russia, France and China. They're also the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council."
