Michael Smerconish

I like Michael Smerconish when he would fill in for Chris Mathews. Same guests, similar opinion but without the bombastic and shouting and cutting guests off.

So it was interesting to find him this morning with his own show on CNN. At 9:00 am Eastern. I came at the end of the show.

I wonder whether this means that he will no longer sub for Mathews.

Will try to remember next Saturday.

I like. I've... for the most part.. found him to be fair, logical and not a right-wing nut case. Don't always agree with him but I like him. I was a bit sorry to see him on CNN, which means he won't be on MSNBC any longer. I'm surprised, if he was shopping for a TV gig... why MSNBC didn't give him a show. If they wanted a more conservative voice in their line-up, he would be the logical choice.

Could have fooled me.

And I agree with you - MSNBC could have earned credibility by giving him his own show if, as you say, he is to the right of Mathews, and Rachel, and Ed..

he has always been conservative. Actually, again IMHO, he has lightened up some in the past 2 or 3 years.

he considers himself an independent conservative. He seems like the conservatives of old, not these radical nut jobs that populate the government and the airwaves.
