Important liberal cause - WV teacher strike; huge - gets almost NO coverage

One of the biggest wildcat strikes in recent American history has been going on all week in West Virginia.

33,000 teachers and school employees.

277,000 students.

It's been on the front of the nation's most influential newspaper [NYT] exactly ZERO times.

----------

This is about what makes it into our national narrative -- and what (and who) gets left out.

-----------

There have been 76 stories on A1 of the NYT this week -- including full stories, photo cutlines, and briefs to a jump.

Not one mentioned the WV strike.

And good coverage of the strike:

He says in addition to v low salary, the WV legislature has massively broken their obligations re teachers' pensions.

His post is well worth reading.
