Ruhle replaces Williams on MSNBC; Morning Joe expanded
January 27, 2022
NEW YORK (AP) MSNBC announced Thursday that business journalist Stephanie Ruhle will replace Brian Williams on the nightly newscast The 11th Hour, and that Morning Joe will expand to four hours.
Ruhle, who will continue as a senior business analyst across other NBC News programs, had been host of the 9 a.m. Eastern hour on the news network.
In a memo to staff, MSNBC President Rashida Jones said Ruhle will bring her business acumen, hard-hitting interview style and original reporting to the 11 p.m. Eastern hour. Shes expected to keep the format Williams originated before leaving the network in December, with a review of the days news and a centerpiece panel of three experts.
Morning Joe, with Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist as hosts and a rotating panel of guests, currently airs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Eastern. It will take over the hour Ruhle is vacating.

Never understand why Joes ratings are high. Same old bunch sitting around every morning listening to Joe harangue on different subjects. Plus he and Mika helped put their dear friend, Donnie in office. Casey has been showing up on CNN. It is that or local news for me.

(80 posts)She's a definite morning personality. Wake me up with loud, fast talk and a cup of coffee. I hope I'm wrong but this doesn't seem to be a good fit for her. especially if she tries to do her morning bits in the late night slot.

Anyone listen to Shep Smith at 7 PM on CNBC? He has an interesting fact filled show.

(9,744 posts)I've only seen her as a guest on various shows. She is business savvy and I think that could help bring more eyeballs to the hour.
