Related: About this forumThousands of channels these days and all of them with the exception of PBS
have commercials for at least half of their air time. What the heck. The only ones that don't have them are streaming channels and even they have them if you get their discounted price.
It is a constant barrage of of drug commercials or some other crap that no one pays attention to - wondering if it is some type of subliminal thing going on. TV sucks. I need to read more but TV is effortless.

(6,155 posts)broadcast channels that on re-runs of shows like "The Closer" they have sometimes stopped showing the last 90 seconds or so of the show. If you know the whole ending that's one thing but if you don't you come away thinking that's how it ended sort of up in the air. They cut out parts in the middle also. When you've seen the first run episode and then the re-run you really notice the differences. It is still a "vast wasteland" whether it is broadcast, cable or streamed.

(6,240 posts)I was looking up the prices of the drugs heavily promoted - $14-16,000 per round of treatment!
Since so few people have that type of money, I guess they are advertising for a needle in a haystack.
