As all "news" goes to social media it becomes all about likes and clicks. This leads to poor journalism or lack of good journalism.

Truth and credibility become victim of the $$$. A good example of course is FOX, they success is not by being a news source - simply an entertainment enterprise.

Everyone these days likes to read stuff that portrays their way of thinking.

Jefferson believed that a free press was necessary to keep citizens informed and involved in government affairs. He also believed that the press had an obligation to report accurately, and that a press limited to truth needed no other legal restraint.

That obligation seems to now be based only money. I worry that our desire for positive feedback will lead us to a terrible outcome at some point.

It's not even strictly a right-wing rag. They sensationalize for clicks, both toward the left and to the right, though they have seemed to be pushing more right-wing silliness of late.
