Quite a day

My longest and best friend has been ailing for the last year. She's been in and out of the hostital with several injuries, and this time ended up in a rehab place. We live about 2 1/2 hours apart. Some of her neighbors are helping with her kitty. I thought since I am free on the weekends, I would go visit her in rehab and stay with her cat to give the neightbors a break.

I got a 2021 Nissan Rogue on Aug. 8th, replacing my 2008 Toyota Prius. It was time to get a newer vehicle, especially to drive 134 miles back and forth while my friend needs support. I was on the way home today. I was on time, enjoying the drive. I was in a construction zone, and a truck on the other side of the concrete barrier threw a rock and broke my windshield. I am ok, but it is going to cost me a lot of money, and I probably won't get to Cleveland this weekend. The rock hit my car south of Akron, north of Massillon, Oh. I drove to Massillon. I didn't want to drive too far with the damage. I called Safelite and got an esitmate, but they didn't have a place near, or an appt. for today. I called AAA to get a tow and a ride home (103 miles) When we got home, I gave the driver my credit card and it was refused. I got in my house, booted my laptop and transferred money to myc checking account and used my debit card, which by this time, I was grateful my accounts weren't empty. I made a few other calls after the driver was on his way, ins. the car dealership, and the mechanic who does most work for me.

I got the credit card problem resolved (it was flagged for suspicious activity-buying gas while out of town)

My birthday was Sat. and so far this new trip around the sun sucks.

I have comprehensive, but I changed the deductible to $1000. The windshield will cost $1004.00, Price includes replacement and Nissan requires a certification of its saftey system after a new windshield is installed. The cameras and other features in or near the windshield.

Thanks for thinking of it.
