I've been following the cpap threads here. I started using mine in the summer and after finally finding a mask that fits (comes under nose and covers mouth) without giving me air stomach and puffed to a slit eyes each. morning, I have moved on to trying to find the right pillow.
I'm a side sleeper. I'm using a tempurpedic contoured pillow but have to scoot all the way to the edge in order to accommodate the mask, which goes from my cheekbone to my chin.
What kind of pillow are you alll using?

(60,355 posts)Been thinking about pillows. In my experienve, pillows are made for men. Too long for women's necks.
I think I might look for one filled with beans so it's adjudtable & cool. (Like the Bed Buddy.)
Bookmarked. Bbl on the way to lunch.

(5,022 posts)I ordered two different types of pregnancy pillows for him to try based on the recommendation of a friend, because they make you sleep on your side. I don't know how they would work with your type of mask, but they've kind of opened up a new (and slightly hilarious) world of sleep to us.
My husband likes this one, a a c-shape: https://www.amazon.com/yoyomax-Pregnancy-Pillows-Maternity-C-Darkgrey/dp/B0CRTS2WVP/ref=sr_1_30?crid=1XJX4OL1J93L7&sprefix=pregnancy%2Bpillow%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-30&th=1
The other one, which he does not like, I love! It's best for me to sleep on my side, too, and this is super cozy. https://www.amazon.com/Sasttie-Pregnancy-Sleeping-Maternity-Removable/dp/B0CBN65GY5/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1XJX4OL1J93L7&sprefix=pregnancy%2Bpillow%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-5&th=1
I don't know how they will work with your mask. Both provide knee support, which helps our hips.
Who knew? If you'd told me we'd be doing this even a year ago I would have thought it so absurd.

(30,227 posts)so I have been using one for 6 or 7 years. I have an under the nose nasal pillow mask and it is totally comfortable and un constricting. I love it and miss it when I can't use my mask.
As for my pillow, I have a down pillow and adjust it to my greatest comfort.
I wish you many nights of wonderful sleep and refreshed mornings.

(549 posts)I have severe sleep apnea. I use two new down pillows. They go flat in a year. I must sleep on my back because of severe GERD. Find a supportive sleep specialist who will assist with options and settings on your CPAP device. Makes a huge difference for comfort and use of the mask. I have sinus issues so I need the encouragement to try various options including working with an ENT. The nose/mouth mask made me swallow a lot of air.
All the best. Stick with it and be patient. The first several months can be frustrating.
