After many twists and turns and changes of opinion, I am now of the view that perhaps the greatest measure of success in life is... ...happy grandchildren.

Only then will you find out whether you have done the really important things right.

They get along better than when he was 10 and she was 5.
He knew EXACTLY what buttons to push then.

I think by the time he is 25 and she is 20 there will be some genuine affection between them.

One can hope.
