Maybe I won't be "forever in blue jeans..."

Fellow senior women, I dress very casually and I like blue jeans.

But...one thing I don't like about them. When newly washed, they fit OK.
After that, they start to...not fit so well. I don't want to go to a smaller size,
and I don't know if I could anyway.

I've thought of jeans with elastic waistbands, as well as regular slacks with elastic waistbands (which I used to wear to work).

Your experiences and suggestions?

1. I just bought several Lee jeans that are stretchy and do not bag; one does have a

wide elastic waistband and I love it.

My wife was very happy with jeans that have been discontinued. Maybe these Lee jeans with put a smile on her face- about jeans anyway. She does have other reasons to smile.

9. I'd be happy to. All of them were Lee brand jeans.

I bought 2 pair of the stretchy ones with the wide waistband; they were called "slimming fit slim straight" jeans.
The third pair is also stretchy but is styled like a regular pair of jeans. It is called "total freedom straight leg."

I think I got them at Kohl's, but any store carrying Lee jeans would certainly have them. Good luck!

3. I found a brand on one of the tv shopping channels that I like really well.

The brand name is Denim and Company and they are sold on QVC. They have a little bit of lycra in them for stretch, but they look and feel like regular denim. They don't stretch out and get baggy after you've had them on for a while. They come in several styles from standard 5 pocket jeans to others that have elastic waistbands. I've had mine for a couple of years now and really like them.

5. I have bought a fair number

of Denim and Company things for myself and for my niece who has similar taste to mine. I really like their 2-pocket stretch denim pants with elastic waistbands - yer basic mom jeans, but super comfortable, they hold up pretty well, and so far they haven't discontinued their basic styles, so they're a win all the way around.

(Plus you can order on line and don't have to watch their programming if it's not your cuppa tea.)

6. I'm 69 and wouldn't wear anything but jeans with stretch. They don't get baggy and look good

even if you wear them for more than one day. They are so much more comfortable than regular jeans and every maker now has them in straight, boot cut, curvy, etc. They have some good looking styles that have elastic inserts on just the sides so they don't look so much like grandma jeans. You just have to try several to find the ones that fit. I use them for working outside cause I have two big places so I just to to the 2nd hand store and get several pairs. The advantage to that is that they have every brand and every style so you can find ones that work for you. In the process, I've found some I love and that I wear for good not just working and gardening.

Some were brand new and were $12-15 instead of the $40-50 jeans cost these days.

7. If you want to spend a lot

NYDJ (not your daughter's jeans) are a great fit and don't bag. I have gone to more comfortable clothing and wear flowie sort of pants and I look for material that is soft. I can't stand that knot of seams at the crotch.

8. I buy Gloria Vanderbilt jeans

They are sold at Costco and other stores. They have enough stretch in them to hold their shape between washings. I have the same brand capri shorts and bermuda shorts, in various colors, as well. They all fit me nicely.

I also buy Croft & Barrow with the elastic waistband.
