'Outlander' star to play'Rebus'

Richard Rankin (no relation) will play John Rebus in the six-part adaptation of Ian Rankin's acclaimed crime novels. Filming begins in Scotland next month and will stream on Sweden's Viaplay in 2024. Richard played Roger Wakefield in Outlander.

Wow! What I wouldn't give to see that.... Maybe after a year or so it will come across the pond. Sigh

Rankin is good in the series. We are going to Scotland on a Rick Steves tour in June!

The beginning book is Knots and Crosses from 1987. So Rebus was obviously much younger then. His daughter was just a little girl. I would guess they will start with the first book. Later, theatrical makeup will be added.
