Oh I am so looking forward to seeing it, I hear it is really good. I have the books, not enough time to read so I have not finished the first one yet so I refuse to watch it since I like my characters just as I imagine them to be. I love the book. I can't wait to see the series.

but the show is really well done.

Except they changed the Eyrie, Ser Loras is badly miscast, and they left out one of the most gut-wrenching lines in the book.

The Maisie Williams sword dance with her instructor, and any scene with Peter Dinklage.

When that dude got caught boning his sister and then pushed that little kid out of the window, I was all "Oh. This is new."

I don't think its the best series ever. For me The Lord of the Rings is the best series ever, especially because it is the forerunner for all the current fantasy and even science fiction we all love today.

To get rid of your central protagonist like that -- ho-lee shit.

And I realized "Holy catfish, this dude is hot!" Yeah, he looks weird, and he's a member of the creepiest family since the Borgias hung out, but he's smart, and funny, and has a soft spot for cripples, bastards and broken things.

I was really worried that casting him would be a compromise, but Dinklage is Tyrion.

And I can understand why he killed his father. After all, his father drove away his wife, apparently just because she made him happy. That's pure evil.

He didn't have to design that saddle for Bran, or treat Sansa with respect when forced to marry her. I guess his experience as a dwarf gave him some empathy for others, and an unwillingness to kick others when they're down.

As to Tywin, like Joffrey, he earned that. Westeros is a better place for their absence.
