Year's End

The year is over
Fading to memory
Events stored away
For remembrance
Some of them wonderful
Others are tragic
Like every other year
A mixture of all
Pull up a chair
Prop up your feet
Pour a glass
Of your favorite drink
And dwell on the good days
Remember them fondly
And think on your triumphs
And deeds so well done.

And now for the change
From one year to another
An uncertain future
We all will face
Like any other year
It will have good times
Seek them out daily
Give them the focus
And overwhelm evil,
Fear, desperation
With love, peace, and hope
And the light of the sun
For this year is ending
A new one beginning
Opportunity knocking
Answer the call

The year is now done.

I enjoy writing these and someday I hope to get really good at it. I'm just afraid right now that I'm spamming the forum a bit much with them. I don't mean to. It's just that I get a word or phrase in my head and then 15 minutes later...poof...there's another one.

Doing it here means others can see and critique it.

Nothing wrong with that.

Happy New Year!
