Related: About this forumI am finished with the Chicago Bears until Eberflus is fired and the team is sold.
I simply cannot take any more and NOW I am beset by guilt for dragging my son into fandom of this clown car franchise as my dad did to me and my grandfather did to him and on down the line...
The Bears are dead to me until the headlines read "Bears fire feckless coach; McCaskey family to sell NFL charter franchise"
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
I am through being Charlie Brown to their Lucy routine!!!!
I need another drink...
QED
(2,980 posts)I'm so sick of him and this losing team. How many QBs with high potential have the Bears ruined?

(10,180 posts)Trubisky - 1st round pick, GM and coach on hot-seat brought back, next year fired.
Fields - 1st round pick, GM and coach on hot-seat brought back, next year fired.
Williams - 1st round pick, GM and coach on hot-seat brought back, next year fired?
This is epitome of "Lather. Rinse. Repeat."...
I swear a roomful of chimps typing on computers could probably produce similar results and likely beat the Packers more over the past 25 years than the imbeciles at Halas Hall!!

(70,636 posts)As a Bears fan, I share your frustration, but...
The Bears have won more playoff games this century than Dallas. They've also been to a Superbowl & 2 conference championship games. Dallas is at zero & zero.
There are better teams to watch based upon routine success. SF, KC, Philly, Pittsburgh, LA, Baltimore...
If you had named any of those teams I'd be in complete agreement.
I have said for years, there are 2 kinds of NFL owners:
1) People who own teams because they were billionaires.
2) People who are billionaires because they own teams.
We have the latter. There is nothing in the McCaskey profile that suggests any of them would be big successes in another field. They inherited the team, but not any special acumen. They still run the team like it's a neighborhood tavern & not a multi-billion dollar business.

(527 posts)Come on over to the Lions Den. There is room at the table.
Or, I have wished I
was a Viking or Bucs fan so I could wear Viking or Pirate clothes on game days. Just a thought.
Or wait like, 100 years like we Strohs garglers and it may turnaround yet when you find a coach with Grit.

(10,180 posts)That NFC championship game last year was BRUTAL and I really did think that it would blow up on Campbell this year, but it has not and I would say at this point the Lions are the best team in the NFC by a pretty good margin and maybe the best in the league.
I would also point out that the Bears SHOULD have waxed that ass TWICE last year, but our insanely unqualified and horrific head coach managed to blow a game with a 2 score lead under 4 minutes to play then too! In fact, the 'Flus is so bad he has actually been in charge of 5 of the worst losses in LEAGUE HISTORY in just the last 2 years (last year Denver, Cleveland and Detriot; this year Washington and Green Bay) - and every single one of them was more painful than the one before it...
Eberflus cost Justin Field his job and likely MILLIONS of dollars in contract money (IF he gets a full second chance at all) and he is fucking up the 'generational' Caleb Williams this year as well... if I was 1/1000th as bad at my job as Flus is at his, I would be in jail for theft of paychecks....
Arrrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!!
What do you do when drinking and time don't stop the pain????
And we get to be crucified in the early game on Thanksgiving this year in Detroit...LOL... at least my appetite will be shot and I can avoid over-eating this year!!!

(44,273 posts)and with a time-out still in hand.
17 seconds on the clock, they decided to run a play, instead of spiking the ball or calling the time out.
Maybe Flus thinks time-outs carry over to the next game.
