I’d think most would be thrilled to get the channels they want instead of 200 offered in cable.

The reason why they get paid is because people want to see them play.

Meh. I haven't subscribed to Netflix in 18 months. I saw a little at my neighbor's house but honestly, the sportscasters they chose to introduce the game were pretty disgusting to me. One woman was supposedly doing color commentary, which was fine, but she was so POURED into that dress that one could see and measure the freckles underneath the fabric--wherever they might appear. The guys were former players, I guess--likewise wearing weird outfits, but at least they didn't take all from the imagination. So, I left my neighbor to it...

First the Simpsons bit with the NFL a few weeks ago (someone want to tell me how traumatic brain injury and the not infrequently violent sport is now children's/cartoon fare?

The second of the two-header is supposed to include Beyonce doing her "country" fare. I'm not opposed to Beyonce performing and granted I'm not much of a country music fan at all, but I am not a fan of her performances on that score. I think I am not missing much.

...children's fare.
Never has been.
And, they've taken on more controversial topics than football.
I get most of your point, but I think tying in the Simpsons was a mistake.

watch it BECAUSE of its animated cartoon features. In years past, the cartoon Bullwinkle was likewise targeted in its double entendres and themes to adults, but I'd bet you are aware that many a child watched it regardless. While I don't deny that I am a football fan, albeit mostly college, I am a realist as I also see my share of severe head trauma in my field. These $$$-making ties to animated series, (if you prefer), still send a misleading signal.

It's not worth us arguing about ut.
Just a difference of opinion, and that's ok.

Drawing my economic activity to nothing but the bare minimum. Besides the memories of watching great games with my Dad back in the day are better than any game I could watch now.
Like the 1982 Playoff in SF between the Cowboys and the 49er's, led by a young Joe Montana. Holy Hell that was a game.
