Ohio State's Cotton Bowl graphic has Texans feeling a bit prickly

The Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes are gearing up for their College Football Playoff Semi-Final matchup on Jan. 10 in Arlington, Texas. In a display of ignorance about the state of Texas and its plant life, Ohio State tweeted its preview graphic for the game featuring a saguaro cactus, which does not exist in Texas, quickly angering Texans in the process.

Texas is not home to the saguaro cactus, primarily found in California and Arizona and is heavily featured in old westerns. None of the more than 100 cacti species found in Texas are saguaros.

Texans and cacti-knowers were quick to call out the cacti-related negligence of Ohio State's graphic design.

how many people in this century in this country believe Texas is a desert and we still ride horses to get around.

Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And it’s goodbye to Ohio State,
Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
And we’ll put over one more win.
Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
For it’s Texas that we love best.
Hail, Hail, The gang’s all here,
And it’s good-bye to all the rest! (YELL)

Yea Orange! Yea White!
Yea Longhorns! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Texas Fight! Texas Fight,
Yea Texas Fight!
Texas Fight! Texas Fight,
Yea Texas Fight!

Oh and there are a few saguaros in Langtry, Texas:

Also, many Texas products use the seguaro as part of their branding. So don't blame osu for continuing a widespread Texas mistake.
