Its been a wild month in Major League Baseball, from the 300th no-hitter in MLB history to a new single-month home run record. Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helped shatter the latter record on Friday, launching a 436-footer off of a Chris Rusin fastball for the 1,120th major-league home run of the month.
Following Guerreros record-setting homer, MLB hitters put up an additional 15 home runs to boost the record to 1,135 on the month. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, thats 16 more home runs than the previous mark reached in August 2017 (1,119) and 34 more than the record in June 2017 (1,101).

(31,949 posts)A true salary cap and real revenue sharing would make the league a lot more competitive. Rob Manfred can dick around all he likes with rule changes and game speed, but it won't increase competition or generate excitement.
No intent to dump on your post Ohiogal. But you and I both know the challenges small market teams like Cleveland and Cincinnati go through to field winning teams.

You won't get any arguments from me over what you said.
