That blown check swing call was bad, but it is what it is.

(31,942 posts)even so, they shouldn't boo their own players. Jansen was the victim of bad calls from behind the plate on both nights as well.
Really uneven series as umpiring goes.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
I believe the check swing did play on the big board, but Roberts charging the field and getting ejected (two nights in a row) might have taken top billing, plus Jansen got pulled later in the inning as things further deteriorated. Jansen DID have a poor outing, pitching erratically with apparent zero ball control, and facing Wilmer Flores only exacerbated thing.
Factoid: Wilmer Flores totally lives in Kenley Jansen's head.
