12 team playoff revealed (NCAA Football)

First round byes go to Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and to Arizona State.

First round matchups are 12 (16) Clemson vs 5 (3) Texas

9 (7) Tennessee vs 8 (6) Ohio State

11 (12) SMU vs 6 (4) Penn State

10 (8) Indiana vs 7 (5) Notre Dame

Arizona State got the 4th seed & first round bye over Clemson. Boise State got the 3 seed. SMU got in instead of Alabama for an at-large bid.

I have no complaints as I think the selection committee made the right decisions.

2. Bet Alabama is even more sorry to see Coach Saban gone.

He's a smart one. He didn't like how the college game has change almost overnight with the NIL money flowing in that disrupts rosters and commitments by players...there's no certainty and certainly much less control by coaches from one year to the next.

He got out and got a TV job and is doing fine.

One coach who adjusted to the new reality quite well is Deon Sanders. He took the Colorado program from hardly any wins to 9 wins this season...that's in just his second season there.

4. I'm disappointed that Bama didn't make the playoffs - although

I figured that if Clemson beat SMU that would be the case. However, I do think that Bama is a better team than Clemson overall, they did have some very ugly games during the season but also some very good ones.
Considering that this is their first year under new coaching staff - still not too shabby.

3. SMU and Penn State

Both looked good in losing efforts last night. Not much defense.

I guess the Razorbacks didn’t make the playoffs? I’m always true to my Team.

6. I wonder about Notre Dame.

The Irish should advance at least a couple rounds, one would think. They haven't had a really tough opponent but they've been beating up the ones they've faced since their opening game embarrassment.
