Metro: Last Light Will Not Ship with Multiplayer

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Metro-Last-Light-Multiplayer,18433.html

Though the game won't be shipping with multiplayer, 4A isn't completely sloughing off the single player: "Right now we’re 100% focused on the single player campaign and not thinking beyond that. We don’t like throwing away work though, it’s a project we could potentially return to after Metro: Last Light ships." So… while it sounds highly unlikely, there's still a slim, slim chance that 4A may end up working on a multiplayer component after all.

I was looking forward to this game, but now I'm really excited since single player is being given full attention.

No, not just ok, I am overjoyed, since I never play multiplayer shooters anyway. This is great news indeed and I hope that they get no interference, like the makers of "Spec Ops: The Line" who were forced to tack on a crappy multiplayer part by the publisher, the only reason being "Because Multiplayer!!!"

This is also refreshing news when contrasted with EA's boss, who seems to be going out of his way to get people to hate EA, saying: “I have not green lit one game to be developed as a singleplayer experience”

OT: I still have to finish Metro 2033. I got frustrated by the stealthy bit after coming down from the surface. Stealth + checkpoint save system (on a PC nonetheless) = Bad Idea

If gaming companies finally abandoned the trend of trying to shoehorn multiplayer into EVERYTHING.
