Don't forget that (Rule number 1). It won't hurt anything as long as you don't disturb it or scare it.
I once had a mother skunk and three of her babies walk across the toe of my boot. Needless to say, I didn't move a muscle while they were doing it.

but haven't seen them yet. Goslings and baby skunks would be interesting!

Skunks ARE predators, and goslings unprotected could be juicy targets.
