Heading over to the Waterfront Brewery in a few minutes. It's 80 and sunny with a gentle breeze. Paradise!

The critters were swimming in those waters just a few hours before.
Can't get fresher than that.

Smathers Beach. Hemingway's house. The lighthouse. Key lime pie and ice cream.

And, as has been suggested, just walk around.

and sit...hmmm...at the water's edge (a tad to the south and east?? Probably condos there now, eh?) - and eat the best bread on the planet smudged with some butter and feel those trade winds blowing thru my hair -

But please do, DO indulge in some Cuban bread for me while you're there, bif! NOM!!

And enjoy your trip, totally!

Edit: ah, I was thinking about that "Southernmost Beach", but checked google map, it looks very public and bricked-over, but how about a stroll to the end of "South Beach" - dat might work!

Even if you're not an avid fisherman, it's a nice way to spend a day. And you can drink.

On land, drinking and walking seem to be the two things everybody does there. I remember watching tourists walking around in knee deep water during a big hurricane some years ago, street cams were pretty funny.

Plus you meet others and ask them what they enjoyed doing.

A ride on a glass bottom boat is also a good time

I never used to bother with such. The couple we were with insisted and I have to say I enjoyed every minute (about an hour or so) and discovered things and places I never imagined. It was well worth it.

Island! Think next key up. They shuttle u over on a boat and you can eat fabulous dinner at a private table on beach watching the sunset and ocean. It was heavenly.
