This New Rule Just Ended the Airline Refund Nightmare

This is good news, but this may be one (of many) travels rights that will be taken away once the new administration comes into power.

A new U.S. Department of Transportation rule will change the game for delayed or canceled flights. Here's what you need to know.

This should have been policy all along, of course. But you know the airlines are going to bitch and they'll probably get the incoming Chump stooges to cancel all of it.

Situations not included are:

1. You purchased a non-refundable ticket.

Does that mean if the flight is canceled or delayed through no fault of the customers, that those with the non-fundable tickets are out the money?

I have bought non-refundable tickets in the past, and thought the non-refundable clause was if I chose to cancel, not something on the airlines side. Surely I am misunderstanding something here?
