6.1 Earthquake offshore of Chiba Prefecture, Japan

No reports of significant damage.

I presume the offshore soft soil absorbed a lot of energy.

Chiba Prefecture is between Tokyo and the earthquake center.

an earthquake had happened though he had been woken up in the middle of the night by his alarm clock falling on him. He passed away two years ago and I always want to reach out to his partner when I hear news of Japan. Fortunately she lives nowhere near today's earthquake.

had bought a new car. She was fine, her car was fine but the bridge between her car and the mainland went kaput. Bad times.
