The most energy efficient transportation mode is a bicycle.

On this graph, vertical axis is energy needed in calories per grams and kilometer whereas the horizontal axis is the body weight including that of the transportation device.

I also recently resubscribed to the magazine (and online) because I think the quality of articles has improved considerably over what was being published in the prior decade or two.

Still a bit too many really junk ads and promotions, but money needs to be made.

After a few close encounters with inattentive drivers I decided I'd rather live than save time or energy and joined the stop-and-go automobile parade every morning.

We ought to be rebuilding our cities so that commuting by bicycle is safe and car ownership is unnecessary.
