Incredible classical Indian dancers you may find amazing!

I have seen these movements done repeatedly by female practicioners of ancient Classic dances, and became overwhelmed to see these male dancers bring their own interpretation for the desperately needed sense of perspective I needed after all these years.

The only male Indian dancers I saw in person was years ago at a wonderful concert in Kansas City at a gathering at the University of Missouri in Kansas City which attracted an enormous group one evening, and their dances represented other traditional dances very much unlike this classical form. They were amazing, as well.

You may become as fascinated as I did, and start searching online for male and female classical dances, temple dances, etc., and discover their ancient forms are overwhelmingly beautiful!

Thank you.

After practicing tribal bellydance for years, I appreciate the intricacy of how these men move in their dance. Such a joy to watch.

Thank you for taking the time to check it out!

Congrats for being able to invest so much time and discipline in such a demanding dance form. I can only imagine how much change you went through in the process. It's an amazing tradition.

6. You nailed that right away! I hadn't gotten past seeing them as a group, yet, when I posted it!

I'm watching it again, almost one half way through, and I caught it as soon as I remembered you mentioned he was on the right. He was on the right in the front row, right? A little more muscular than the others.

He fully occupies and embodies that dance! There is nothing standing between him and the form. No ego, no separation at all! After watching him this far, I see now that he is, indeed, more consciously experienced, although the others are mechanically very skilled. He's way beyond them, isn't he?

Thanks for sharing your observation. Seeing them again made the event much more complete, by far! I even subscribed. Here's hoping I might find out more about the work of the principle dancer. Hoping they'll have more videos.

Here's a different Odissi dancer, and her dance shows a lot of the same elements. Also very interesting. It's a great place to spend some quality time, discovering the great classical dancers of this ancient culture.

but the form of the guy on the audience's left in the back seems very polished. I will need to review later this evening.

It definitely proves beyond all doubt their traditions have been central for far longer than anyone could imagine. It's amazing, and something one really needs to ponder.

It does reflect some deep respect, doesn't it?

Surely glad you pointed that out, duncang. I was stunned the moment I saw your comment.

The music is somehow lightening my heart, and the dancing is precise and graceful and elegant and also cheering.
Thanks, Judi Lynn.

It does seem to move beyond language and negativity, doesn't it?

I would recommend checking YouTube for Classical Indian Dance, and checking temple dancing from the tiny also old cultures. I never will forget the first time I saw temple dancers with their astonishing golden headpieces, and costumes somewhere as a much younger person, watching their impeccable movements and great skill and devotion to their craft. It never left my mind.

Thank you, so much!
