MARYLAND A winter storm spreading ice, snow and bitter arctic cold across the country could dump as much as 10 inches of snow across much of Maryland starting Sunday night and wrapping up overnight Tuesday, according to forecasters.

(40,525 posts)North Kansas here. We have another couple of hours on the tail end. Five foot drifts around the house. Aint nothing moving but big trucks with snow plows. At least 12 inches of snow. Kinda windy but not damaging. Below freezing temps for at least the next five days.

(5,250 posts)Went to the grocery store a few hours ago (along with everyone else in the county) and was surprised and impressed to see such a thorough job. Even a thick layer of blue stone- looking gravel chips has been liberally applied on my road.
So, as a native NoVa-er, experience tells me that can only mean well end up getting about a half inch lol.
They seem to be taking this one very seriously. The heavy road prep made me nervous enough to fill up some extra water jugs just in case the power goes out for an extended period.
