(13,804 posts)Im 14 months into losing my wife and so like this morning leaving work I catch myself ok heading home yet no Elizabeth.

(4,725 posts)be able to recover from a lifelong love when one or the other dies. We saw that with her parents. One died and the other quickly followed after 54 years together. We are at 51.I know I wouldn't have the time to recover.

Yes, I have some fun, but he's still missing.
My neighbor gave himself a job to do every day. He was in his 90s.
His wife had some kind of mild dementia, just enough where he had to take care of her but that they didn't need help.
Once his daughter moved him out of the house with nothing to do, he died.
It just sucks all around losing people. All we can do is our best with what works for us.
