Bereavement
Related: About this forumI dreamed we all were eating a pizza I was 9 yrs old. For one second it was gold
My parents already had big marital issues a kid would not understand nor should about that.
My parents divorced soon after that, then the years of quiet & not so quiet despair. My rotten brother really really needed a firm presence, our Mom could *not* do that. He got into much much much legal trouble & served many many many years of deserved prison time.
My father died in August 2011, I only learned of it because his brother tracked me down one Saturday afternoon. I told my mom & the rest of them a week later.
Last time all of us 5 kids & my Mom were in the same room was the day before Mom passed.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
