South Dakota Gov. Noem to sign bill barring transgender women from female sports

After being smoked out in the Senate, House Bill 1217 — a bill promoting fairness in women’s sports by disallowing trans women from competing on women’s teams — passed the Senate on Monday by a vote of 20-15.

Gov. Kristi Noem voiced her approval of the bill via Twitter and indicated she would sign it.

“In South Dakota, we’re celebrating #InternationalWomensDay by defending women’s sports! I’m excited to sign this bill very soon,” Noem tweeted shortly after the bill’s passage.

Sen. Maggie Sutton, R-Sioux Falls, is the bill’s prime sponsor on the Senate side and gave the same arguments for the bill as in previous committees — the bill is about fairness and inclusion for women.

2. I'm ok with that since sports only makes

2 distinctions, those with vaginas and those with penises then that is how they should be categorized. Only exception might be if a transgendered has gone through a change and altered hormones. Otherwise we’d have to do away with women’s sports as women can’t compete with men in most individual sports events.

To save South Dakota from all those trans folks wanting to play female sports. Must be an awful lot of them for this Bill to take precedence over all the other “ minor” issues there like COVID, economy, health care.
