Buddhism
Related: About this forumI've been chanting this for 50 years.
In 1967 I was walking around a neighborhood in Hollywood hills and heard this chant coming from a house. Stopped and listen for a while and a lady came out and invited me in. She taught me the chant and for some reason I remembered it and have been saying it for all of these years. I have no reason, or excuse for why I have continued it. It has always seemed to pick me up and center me.

(1,987 posts)About 25 years ago in the back seat of a taxi, stuck to the glass in front of me was this chant written out on a bumper sticker with the phonetic spelling. In the several minutes it took to get where I was going I learned it, not knowing what it was or what it meant. It sounded good in my head.
I still chant this to myself and sometimes out loud. It feels good.
Thanks for sharing and reminding me.
