I just read the OP that may have prompted this OP. It is truly disheartening that a jury would allow such a vile post, by someone who seems to have some seriously pronounced blind spots, to remain on DU. To see even one person reccing or posting in agreement is equally disturbing.

I'm not one for conspiracies, but there seems to be a concerted effort by some on DU to ignore reported misogynist posts. Is the jury system pointless?

It wasn't always perfect, but things now are a inconsistent and seem to get worse. Some real ugly stuff stays. It's difficult to not see that as a tacit approval.

I just served on a jury for a post glorifying rape as a good learning experience. I was the ONLY person to vote to hide. The only goddamn one. What the fuck.
