Related: About this forum"Hot Tech Hotties" meant to address sexism in tech industry
Not at all ironic that I found this article by following a link from Weird News.
In the wake of recent debates about the industry's gender issues, one fledgling mobile magazine decided that we could all use more women in tech... in their underwear.
Hot Tech Today was released March 17 on iTunes and Google Play stores, purporting to be a new FUN! alternative to the average run-of-the-mill startup magazines. You know, the ones without women dropping their thong underwear on the covers.
. . .
The Facebook page is semi-regularly refreshed with new Hot Tech Hotties:
These women are models, argued Kelley. They want to be models, this is the career they have chosen and hope to excel and earn a living doing what they do. We actually give them the avenue to do that. We pay them for the job they love doing and that's that. Erica Williams is really the only woman in tech within our very small organization. All of the other women in tech should be proud to have a woman owner of a tech company and really overlooking any sexism altogether.

(42,481 posts)Sometimes I think if we're going to objectify -- the problem would slightly ameliorated by equal time.
Wouldn't work-- but a thought.

(42,481 posts)Couldn't find any-- which is part of the point--why we can't enjoy the human form on an equal, Non-objectified basis. Most of it rests on women, objectified women women may admired, but not as human persons, with thought, feelings and lives-- they become the property of a sexist society.
The guys? They're just hot guys posing.
BTW did you see "Hot Jesus"-- it's a movie ad. It shouldn't make me laugh, but I can't help it

(16,974 posts)watched it and was it ever bad as far as the storyline. Could have been so much better without the constant bull that would never happen.
Warpy
(113,131 posts)and Clooney's character hadn't been killed off so quickly and what the hell, they'd have had somebody scientifically literate justify all the flying space junk.
Other than that, it was peachy.
