billhicks76
(5,082 posts)That a joke. A guess you can call anything anything you want as evidenced by your other comments. Like I said if you're a centrist why not own it instead of pretending to be something else. And no one said you cared. That's obvious. If you don't like being challenged then maybe commenting on the internet isn't for you.

(5,082 posts)About the self-declared ties between the Bushes and Clintons going back to 1982? Hey. At least that means you don't necessarily give tacit approval. The Bushes have called the Clintons honorary Bush family members on numerous occasions. And it's never stated as because being part of a presidents club. Jimmy Carter and Obama are never offered the same graces.

(5,082 posts)But we all wanted a women in the White House. I did. So crying sexism does women no favors. We wouldn't want Condaleeza. Or at least I wouldn't. Does it bother anyone that Jeb's donors are lining up to fund Hillary. Or are people going to say it's untrue just because they are as uninformed as many republicans?

(23,156 posts)She is beyond flawed. She claims to support women and children, and yet she is responsible for the deaths of many women and children. She says she empowers women, and she's said she's open to compromising on women's control over their own bodies. She supports fracking. How does that help women and children? She supports a minimum wage that really isn't a living wage. Does that support women and children? She takes large sums of money from major banks, and expects us to thing that she won't be biased in favor of them. She votes for wars. Does that help women and children?
It is not sexism or misogyny to point these things out. It is simple truth.
ismnotwasm
(42,478 posts)Those..points.. have been debunked over and over, and I won't bother to do it, yet again, here. For myself, this is a historic moment of celebration

(18,960 posts)Seriously, there's a lot more going on here than an epic battle of the ages against sexism and misogyny.
There are some real issues that have nothing to do with gender.
The "2 for 1" deal of Bill Is Back isn't going to play well with a lot of voters.
Then there's the sanders thing. What he wants, and what his followers want, isn't what Clinton wants.
You have the Trump voters, and then you have everyone else.
The "epic tale" relies on Clinton clinching the Dem vote, the Independents, the Undecideds, and the Republicans who don't want Trump.
That's a tall order, no matter how you slice it.
I'm glad you're excited, but I'd save the victory lap until there is an actual victory.
Clinton is divisive. A lot of people don't like her, a lot of people don't trust her.
And her being able to turn that around in the next six months will be your "epic battle for the ages," and it will have nothing to do with sexism or misogyny.
She has baggage...a lot of it. And she will turn voters around and win them over, or she will not.
That's what the GE looks like when I take off the rose colored glasses.

(15,503 posts)and reiterating so many RW slurs against Hillary.
It's not as if voters have never heard any of these before. It's very much like The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Groundhog Day blended together.
They have all lost their initial punch. Most feminists also recognize how deeply they are rooted in misogyny when Hillary is - and has always been - the best qualified and most accomplished candidate in the race on either side.

(18,960 posts)They're not "right wing slurs"...and you're repeating a few talking points yourself here as well.
It's a simple matter. There are issues when it comes to the trust factor. You can address them, or you can be in a state of denial and accuse me of being right-wing and a misogynist.
I'm not, by the way, and who the hell do you think you are to judge me when you don't even know me?
She has some issues, and if you want to marginalize that into nothing but a neat and tidy package of misogyny and right-wing slurs, go right ahead.
You know what else is "very much like The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Groundhog Day blended together?"
Shooting the messenger every time someone has anything to say except words of glowing admiration for Ms. Clinton.
I'm finished with you...off to the ignore list you go. You are dismissed.
