Southern Baptist Church is expelling female pastors

Whatever that means.

4. It means whatever

They want it to mean at the time. I used to go to one. Had dozens of friends. The old pastor lost half the congregation with his raging against everyone who did not agree with him. Told us we had to vote against Obama. I made it clear I would vote for Obama. Never went back. Southern Baptist.

I found a Pastor who preached following in the footsteps of Jesus! Love thy neighbor.

They call themselves Christians, but do they honor all of Jesus admonitions or even care about them one bit - NO!

2. I was going to a Methodist Church

That had grown like crazy with a friend. Her Son and DIL were going there.

After a Saturday evening service he quit going blustering he was NOT going to attend a Church that had a woman Pastor! There were 5 services, she was the only one.

Fact is he was angry they would not put him in charge of the media center. I-listened, knew what he was angry about.

Took me just a couple of times meeting him to know what he was.

3. Not exactly

The denomination doesn’t have the power to expel a pastor.

But they are a voluntary (in both directions) affiliation of churches. The churches involved in this story are still there… still have female pastors… and still have “Baptist” in their name. They just can’t be part of the SBC.
