2. I use PayPal as a guest or whatever they call it.

I use Apple Pay so that PayPal never sees my credit card number, just some one-time code that is part of the transaction.

There's always snail mail. Someone can find that and post it.

I refuse to use pay pal and tried the pay as guest but it refuses my card, I know th ecard is ok since I used it several times for other purchases the last few days.. Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have any control over what happens when you leave DU and use PayPal's service to make a payment, so I am generally unable to perform troubleshooting or fix issues if they are specifically related to errors encountered on PayPal.

If you are trying to make a one-time payment, you do not need to create a PayPal account if you follow the instructions here:

However, if you follow those instructions to the letter and you are having issues with your card being accepted by PayPal, you would have to contact their support to figure out what the problem is.

With all that said: If you are completely stuck, we do have an alternative method of payment which we are currently testing. You can use this link to make a payment via Stripe, without PayPal:

Please note though that if you use the Stripe method, because we are still in the testing phase, your Star Membership will not automatically update when you make the payment -- instead, I will be notified of the payment by email, and then I will manually update your Star Membership here at DU. Because of this, there may be a short delay between the time you make the payment and the time your Star Membership is updated.

Followed those instructions several times now, it continially refuses my card...I used a different card last year but from the same bank account..

Glad you were able to get it to work.

For what it's worth, starting with the upcoming fund drive this month, we will have a whole new alternative payment system available for Star Memberships on DU, so people won't have to use PayPal if they don't want to. (That is, assuming we can get it ready in time -- we are currently on track to do so.)
