McAuliffe pushes for gun control measures
http://wavy.com/2014/12/15/mcauliffe-pushes-for-gun-control-measures/This really does make sense. Some very good ideas here. If we can't get D.C. to move the States are the next place to work.

{democrat Virginia governor} mcauliffe-pushes-for-gun-control-measures/ .....Among the legislation he will pursue during the 2015 legislation session is a bill that would limit handgun purchases to one a month.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a gun control advocate, was a major donor to McAuliffes 2013 gubernatorial campaign. The measures will likely {LIKELY??? DEFINITELY, barf, from legislating gunnuts} face strong opposition in the GOP-controlled General Assembly.
Just wanted to point out that Virginia has had a one gun per month law in the past (which in Britain would be condemned as heresy allowing 12 guns per year); there were about 4 states which had one gun laws, now not sure. Below this is noted in the article. In pennsy former dem gov ed Rendell tried to get one gun laws passed without success due rightwing cretinism:
mccauliffe proposals: Give State Police authority to process voluntary background check requests
Make unlawful purchases more difficult by clarifying what information can be displayed by gun show vendors
Prohibit the possession of firearms for persons subject to protective orders
Prohibit the possession of firearms for misdemeanor domestic violence offenders
Curtail handgun trafficking by reinstating the one handgun a month law .. This common-sense measure, which was Virginia law for 19 years, limits handgun purchases to one a month..
Revoke concealed handgun permits for parents delinquent on child support payments
Keep handguns out of the wrong hands by closing the gun show loophole .. Governor McAuliffes legislative proposal changes that, requiring universal background checks for all purchases at gun shows.

with a republican controlled legislature, he might get 3 or 4 of those through, but the one gun a month will never make it past the legislature.
