(1,582 posts)We had readings about temptation, and then some ceremony for new people entering the Church (a good sized group I am happy to report). We have prayers kinda like this Great Litany, probably sometime during Holy Week, but I can't say when.

While we "cradle Catholics" just sailed on through.

I would be interested in each of their stories, of why they decided to join. I know a number of people who have joined as adults, and know many of their stories. I was very surprised in that many of the cases, it was for serious theological reasons (rather than things like "my spouse really wanted me to" . They thought the Catholic Church had the most direct, logical, and consistent answers to their questions about Christianity and its relationship to the modern world. The lineage of the Catholic Church was also an attraction to some.
