this group is on the serious side. I thought something light might be nice. I love Van Morrison too.

That's why I try to take things lightly whenever I can. [img][/img]

I love music, all kinds of music. I think the right song can do so much to help someone.

As for learning to enjoy life again. The other day I was talking to my mom and she brought one of the people that assaulted me, she asked me his last name, the face came to me instantly, his first name everything about it, but I couldn't remember the last name right away. I thought OMG, there's something wrong with me, why can't I remember his last name, I remember everything else. It came to me about an hour later.

The more I thought about it the more I realized there was nothing wrong with me, I was busy enjoying my life that I had buried that little tidbit. It wasn't a lot, just his last name for about an hour, but it was something, it was healing, it was enjoying life.

It's a true kindness I give to myself, to be able to forget without worry.
The ones who harmed me are far away or already dead.

I had a friend, very sweet guy, outgoing, I introduced him to his partner of now 18 years, and we worked together. We were at a retreat with our colleagues, and he was singing...loudly and off-key. Then, the song in the OP came on....we are at a bar, all of us three sheets to the wind, singing, and then my friend belts out..."my ONE eyed girl!" We all about fell off our seats laughing. We told him that was a great way to change the lyrics. He looked at us funny and said, "aren't those really the lyrics?!" Several of us had to race to the bathroom to avoid wetting our pants!

Since he was a child, he thought it was a song about a "one-eyed girl" and thought it was sweet some sang her a song. LOL!
