Report or no and how. Pedophile.

I’m not sure how to go about this because I can’t find any information online. I was in a relationship with a pedophile for 2 years, started when I was 17 and has caused me much trauma. I’m on the fence of whether I should report it now, I want to but I’m scared. I know how the law works sometimes, making the victim look bad. The only evidence I have would be a few pictures placing me at his house while I was underage, one of these pictures include alcohol. The other evidence I have is a diary, I used to religiously write in it, and of course it has dates and details. I know a diary probably isn’t the best source but that’s all I have considering of course he didn’t want to take pictures with me while I was underage, and also the phone I had used for the majority of when he and I were together was broken. He and I did keep in contact until beginning of this year, but it has just now hit me that yes; he was legitimately a pedophile, he manipulated me, emotionally abused me and at times would force myself into sexual acts. Please don’t be rude, I have a very fragile state of mind at this point in time, I just need some help.

Someone on here will probably have good advice.

Just some off the top of the head questions for you to consider (not necessarily answer here):

Do you know if there are other victims?
Do you know where he lives now?
Did he keep child porn on his computer that you know of?

Again, I'm deeply sorry you experienced this.

I met up with his recent ex, who is about 27(?) and she said he was talking and having sex with multiple girls while he was with me and she showed me a picture and she looked as old as me as well, I’m not positive if she was though or who she was. I do know where he lives now.

I do have the phone, but it was completely wiped because I tried to sell it. And I’m honestly not sure how far the messages between us went back either.

should still be able to retrieve what you believe was wiped. Guess you couldn’t sell it broken, so that’s good you still have it.

This is how I would proceed:
I would consult with an attorney; find one who has represented victims like you in the past. That may not be the easiest thing to do but go to an attorney who can make a referral. He/she might have to do some research to find a good referral for you.

I would also research what the age of consent was when you were subjected to abuse. If you were of age, you may be out of luck but ask an attorney to be sure. There might be special circumstances such as the person being in a position of authority, such as a teacher or priest.

Good luck!

Thank you for this information; I think it’ll be very helpful to me. I’m currently a college student living on my own, so I’m not sure how I would be able to get an attorney at this point but I will look into it.

Things differ from state to state but you might want to start there. Even if they can't make an attorney referral to you, they should be able to tell how to get an appropriate referral.
Many initial legal consultations, particularly of this nature, are free.
At least try to get a legal consultation, please.

Good luck.

Virginia Giuffre wrote a recollected memoir and it became a crucial piece of evidence in her various lawsuits in the Epstein case. Your diary is even more important, since it is a true contemporaneous document, something written at the time and in real time, rather than something written in hindsight.

We are all wishing you the best.

first of all, by now, i would have offered to commit murder/hire a hit man, and i would renew that offer now. i wish i was laughing harder when i said that, cuz if you really look at the possibilities, it has a lot going for it.

yes, of course, report. there must be help there for you on campus. there is no reason they wouldnt help you. go there now.
the only way forward is through, the only shortcut is to hurry into it.

your diary will be invaluable, and it would absolutely be considered solid evidence.

let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much. I haven’t told very many people. I have really bad social anxiety and anxiety in general so finally trying to step up to at least put this out here was very hard for me. This is going to be very hard for me but I will try.
