Elad suggested choosing a host. I am willing if people want me, but I would need a lot of co-hosts

to help out.

Anyone have any ideas. If you would rather choose someone else, that is fine with me.

I think our rules should be pretty generous. Does anyone have any suggestions other than that opening posts should feature a news item from the foreign press.

I think we should remind those who post about DUs general rules. Any other suggestions?

I think we should be able to post here and also post links or the same information elsewhere. The problem that caused me to want this group was that I would translate an article and post it as a response to someone else's post and then have difficulty finding it.

What do you think?

Also, if someone can tell me how to put this group on my subscriptions list, I would be grateful.

And, if you know anyone else on DU who that you want to include in this group, please invite them.

Welcome. And thanks for posting here.

Post stories about news from around the world.

Also, suggest users for Country in title if it can fit (maybe we can get a list of country abbreviations and pin it).

Follow the main SOP about how to treat others.

Allow I/P stuff here as well since it falls under world news (and is very important in the ME). Does not mean it should become a free for all flame fest, but most news stations don't have a separate station just for that

Fun Idea: We have the DU'zy and such elsewhere, maybe something to recognize the posters who post the most, or a weekly 'theme' like Africa - post a story from each country there (or it could all be in one big thread), Italy and post stories from each city, etc and so on.

Jazz it up to keep people interested and others wanting to see what is going on.

A pinned resource thread so new people popping in have quick access to links we often use.

Question: Some places in the world cover things more widely that we put down as Conspiracy/etc (example, UFO's might make a page 1 article in Mexico). Should we apply our views/biases/etc and filter such things out or if it is front page it can be included? Also - should we keep a running list of places we find that we don't want articles posted from (like rt.com or something like that)?

There are DUers other places that may be interested. The Lounge and Photography jump to mind. I suggest you post an invitation in a couple forums or groups.
