"A Face In the Crowd" by Budd Schulberg

Directed by Elia Kazan.

Info here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050371/?ref_=ext_shr

There is so much credence given to this film as it reflects our culture's vulnerability to the con.

If any DUer knows how to edit video clips, I'd love to see a Shitler diatribe followed by Patricia Neal (Marcia) pleading with Andy Griffith (Lonesome Rhodes) to "JUMP!!! ... Get out of my life! Get out of everyone's life!!"

Maybe it will strike the right nerve.

… yet somehow, it never occurred to me how current it is. Yikes.

where she's riding away in the cab and you can hear him yelling from the balcony, wailing like some kind of desperate, wounded animal.

If you look in the IMDB link you can see various quotes that make you cringe. It is a diatribe on the TV business as much it is about our vulnerability.
