War of the Worlds (1953)

I get goosebumps every time I watch this movie. It's just a brilliant piece of film making, IMHO. George Pal special effects still hold up today. Excellent cast and direction. A bit heavy with the "God saved us" stuff, but it doesn't ruin the film. I wish there were more classic sci fi movies like this.

And I still can't get over it, began in the very 5-Corner neighborhood in Newark NJ where I grew up.
So I'm bracketed in where I settled and where I'm from. Odd, that.

5. The only good work Gene Barry ever did in his 90 years. It also had the best cheap special effects.
