You might want to look into alpha lipoic acid/R-lipoic acid if you haven't already.

It did seem to offer relief for a few months, but the burning, etc., have returned with a vengeance even though my BG is under good control.

I let my high blood sugars go on too long before seeking help, and suffered some pretty bad neuropathy as a result. I've lived with the pain for several years now, but it is really beginning to take its toll. I have read that low THC/high CBD strains have proven beneficial for their anti-inflammatory actions, as well as good for chronic pain (which is what this has become).

Just wondered if anyone out there had any experience with it.

Her feet. She used a marijuana cream smuggled in from Colorado it helped

but sometimes neuropathy can be reduced or reversed entirely by pulling blood sugars back in the normal range.

I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 months ago - still very mild - but by strictly watching the carbohydrates I'm eating I have gotten my blood sugar back into the normal range (it actually only took 3 days - except for the fasting blood sugar which took a month).

The standard ADA recommendations of 100-150 carbs a day are unlikely to get blood sugar into the normal range. (Their goal is to be below 180 at 2 hours after eating - which is well above normal range.) My goal is to keep it under 140 at all times, below 100 in the morning, and below 120 during the day.

I don't have neuropathy, but some of the folks I've talked with who are eating very low carb have reversed or reduced their neuropathy (both Type 1 and Type 2).

I do tons of testing - every new thing I eat gets tested before I take a bite, at 1 hour, at 2 hours and (if it is still rising at 2 hours) at 3 hours. If it's close, I give it another chance. If it isn't close, it is off my list (at least until I lose more weight). I'm rarely outside of that range as long as I stick to fewer than 20 (and 15 is better) net carbs in a 3 hours period.

I smoke it daily, and it dulls the pain enough to make it tolerable. It also has a lasting effect until the next evening when I do it again. Sometimes, when it is really bad, I take a tylenol and advil together on top, and it seems to work fine.
