I lost my phone at the store...

I am usually very good about putting it back in the pocket of my purse. I pull it out to look at my list or other notes I've made, in this case a very specific light bulb needed, and I try to never set it down on anything.

Got my items and hopped in the car. Noticed that the podcast I had been listening to was not playing. No phone.

Made what was probably an illegal u-turn (I thought there was a left turn lane but it was just one big gore!), zipped back to the store and checked the cart I just left. Nothing. Checked near the register but that didn't make much sense.

Saw a woman with her phone out and asked her to call my phone. She was so nice. She called and we heard disco coming from the bulb section. There was a freestanding cardboard display that was partially covering the shelf WHERE I SET my phone down so it wouldn't have been obvious for anyone to see.

I am not to be trusted.

Nothing quite like getting the silent treatment from a missing phone.

Maybe I'll just bring my own music to the hardware store next time!

Pin numbers - digital coupons - shopping list - everyone's names - how to spell. Nap time.

Glad you found it quickly. The lady helping out was key. One time I lost my wallet going through security back in the old days when I still flew on airplanes. Ancient history, I know... After freaking out for 5 or 10 minutes I found it in my backpack, right where I put it.

I frequently hide my cell phone from myself at home. Among the reasons I keep a landline is that I can call the cell phone and find it.

One night and he was frantic. He had misplaced his phone and asked if we could help him look for it.
"Why don't we just call it?"

So we solicited several people to listen for the ring. He found his phone. But the poor guy was so embarrassed.

We ALL are occasionally forgetful and make mistakes.

Very glad you found your phone.
