Caitlin Clark No More a Lucky Charm As Boyfriend Connor McCaffery's Butler Left Heartbroken by UConn

With WNBA star Caitlin Clark cheering her boyfriend from the stands, the Butler Bulldogs started their season with a win over the Missouri State Bears. Connor McCaffery then helped his team to a six-game winning streak after losing their second game. Clark was present for some of the wins during this run including the 87-77 victory over the Mississippi State. But the Bulldogs are now stuck in a rut.

After going 7-1, they have now lost five on the bounce with their latest outing resulting in a painful defeat by the UConn Huskies. Even the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year’s presence couldn’t inspire them to end their losing streak and McCaffery must be feeling the heat now.

Clark was at the Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday wearing a Bulldogs cap and was the focal point quite a few times during the contest. She was also joined by future Bulldog and Connor’s brother Jack in the stands. The Huskies stormed to a 16-point lead, but a fightback from the Bulldogs trimmed it to only a three-point deficit. However, Dan Hurley’s side went into the break with a 9-point advantage.

In the second half, Butler continued to fight back even after the Huskies went ahead with a 14-point gap. They even managed to tie the game at 63 points with less than five minutes remaining and were sniffing a win. But Huskies Alex Karaban had other plans.
