After the scandalous match between Georgia and Turkey, President of the Turkish Basketball Federation Hedo Turkoglu arrived in Tbilisi and criticized FIBA and the Georgian side.
According to him, the Turkish Basketball Federation does not agree with the decision of FIBA and will appeal the result to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
“This situation is very painful and sad. In my opinion, FIBA is breaking down day by day in terms of refereeing mistakes and organization of the tournament. Especially when we look at the events in Georgia and Germany during the tournament, it becomes clear that FIBA is losing its strength.
It is also necessary to ask the question of why the organization of the tournament is so bad. Why does FIBA give the right to host EuroBasket to third world countries like Georgia, which cannot organize such tournaments? This is a shame for FIBA,” Turkoglu said.
