If it has balls, it's a male. This late in the season (depending on where you are. NorCal here), it could be a hermaphrodite. Not uncommon but you probably don't want it around anyway.

and brush a couple of female branches for seeds for next season. Be careful or your female plants will become seed laden and you'll be sorry. Try to cover it with a plastic garbage bag before you start working with it.
