Puerto Rico Government Revenues Reach a Historic High in April

Gov. Ricardo Rosselló reported on Friday that the net income of the General Fund for the month of April reached the highest historical level for a month with $1,763.9 million.

These revenues exceeded those of April, 2018 by $320.8 million and represented an interannual increase of 22.2 percent.

“Our Government works tirelessly to achieve the economic recovery that Puerto Rico needs. The people has begun to show its confidence to the Department of the Treasury and that was evidenced during the tax returns filing process and with the historical sending of millions of dollars in withdrawals,” Rosselló said in a written statement.

For his part, the chief financial officer of the Government and Secretary of the Finance Department, Raúl Maldonado Gautier, explained
that in the ten months elapsed of this fiscal year 2018-19, which include the period from July to April, the total net income to the General Fund accumulated totals reached $9,312.2 million.
