Guam DOE: More than 500 students still 'missing' midway through school year

The school year is nearing the halfway mark, but more than 500 public school students never reported for classes and still cannot be contacted, according to education Superintendent Jon Fernandez.

He said the school system has pretty much exhausted its efforts to contact them.

Little more can be done about the missing students until pandemic restrictions are lifted and home visits are possible, he said.

“There’s just no way we’re going to be able to do further registration of those kids,” he said.
